Friend of DGWW and extraordinary community volunteer, Betsy Whitman, approached DGWW for advice and assistance in restoring a a family heirloom — a cool cedar chest. The interior was in good shape, but the exterior had been exposed to moisture and needed new veneer on the top. The whole chest needed a good sanding and cleaning and a new finish. She also wanted to remove the wooden “skirt” that lifted the chest off the ground and replace it with new legs. Work is now under way.
